Bushfire contained on east coast Tasmania

A Tasmanian bushfire has been contained overnight and efforts to extinguish it will continue.

Backburning will continue to contain a bushfire on Tasmania's east coast which damaged two sheds, a caravan and machinery.

An advice alert remains in place for the fire at Dolphin Sands, which started when a hazard reduction burn got out of control and scorched more than 120 hectares.

Firefighters did the majority of backburning overnight and will continue on Thursday, with the fire being held within containment lines.
