A bushfire is threatening lives and homes in Perth's semi-rural south.
A watch and act alert has been issued for people in the vicinity of Karnup Road and Serpentine Road in Hopeland.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says the blaze is out of control and unpredictable, with burning embers likely to be blown around homes and spot fires starting ahead of the blaze.
The fire was reported about 2pm on Friday and was thought to be caused by lightning.
A watch and act alert has also been issued for parts of Piara Waters and Forrestdale, in Perth's east.
DFES says there are several fires burning in the area and the blaze is out of control.
