Business as usual for Westbrook in NBA

A balanced Miami Heat performance was too much to handle for the visiting Washington Wizards.

Russell Westbrook has recorded 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his 98th career triple-double to help the Oklahoma City Thunder cruise to a 104-94 victory over the visiting San Antonio Spurs.

Oklahoma City (39-29) swapped positions with the Spurs (37-29) in the tightly packed Western Conference, moving into fifth place while the Spurs dropped to seventh.

Westbrook is two away from becoming the fourth player to reach 100 triple-doubles.

Oscar Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138) and Jason Kidd (107) are the members of the century club.

Elsewhere, James Johnson scored 20 points and Wayne Ellington added 17 as the Miami Heat used a third-quarter charge to beat the Washington Wizards 129-102 in the NBA.

Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder and Kelly Olynyk all scored 13 for the Heat, who never trailed and outscored Washington 43-28 in a dominant third period to increase their lead to 27 points.

That was Miami's highest-scoring quarter in a regular-season contest since October 30, 2013 - 394 games ago.

Dwyane Wade left the game less than a minute into the fourth quarter with what was diagnosed as a mild left hamstring strain.

Dwight Howard had 30 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Charlotte Hornets to a 122-115 win over the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns have lost 15 of their last 16 games dating back to the start of February.

Phoenix was playing without star Devin Booker (left triceps strain), rookie Josh Jackson (knee irritation) and TJ Warren (back spasms).

Harrison Barnes scored 25 points, and JJ Barea and Doug McDermott added 20 apiece as the Dallas Mavericks thrashed the hapless Memphis Grizzlies 114-80.

Memphis has lost 17 consecutive games, the most for the team since it moved from Vancouver after the 2000-01 season and the third-longest losing streak in franchise history.

The Mavericks have a quick, and daunting, turnaround as they host the league-leading Houston Rockets on Sunday.

And Lou Williams' game-high 25 points helped the Los Angeles Clippers stay in the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot as they beat the visiting Orlando Magic 113-105.

Orlando's offense just didn't produce much, scoring only eight points in the first nine minutes of the quarter.

Los Angeles led by as many as 12 points in the final three minutes.
