Trade Minister Simon Birmingham has laid out his busy work timetable, assuming he retains the portfolio when Prime Minister Scott Morrison announces his new ministry line-up on Sunday.
"We have got a very busy agenda as a government in terms of the trade portfolio," Senator Birmingham told Sky News on Sunday.
He said the government needed to legislate and ratify trade agreements with Indonesia, Hong Kong and Peru that were finalised in the last few months.
"We want to make sure they come into reality," he said.
"That will require support from the Labor party and I hope that is given."
In particular, he wants to get the trade agreement with neighbouring Indonesia sealed this year.
He also wants to conclude negotiations on Australia- Europe Union agreement, saying this is a critical one given it is Australia's second largest trading partner and a very large trading bloc.
"And of course, depending what happens with Brexit, we are well placed to secure a trade agreement with the UK should they leave the EU," he said.
