By-election candidates set to be named

Early voting in five federal by-elections is due to start next Tuesday, as nominations closed on Thursday.

Nominations have closed for five federal by-elections to be held on July 28.

The ballot paper draws for the by-elections in Perth, Fremantle, Braddon, Mayo and Longman are due to be completed on Friday afternoon.

And, for the first time, details of the eligibility of candidates will be published by the Australian Electoral Commission following the citizenship debacle which triggered four of the five by-elections.
