A Brisbane taxi driver befriended an intellectually disabled passenger before inviting her to his home and molesting her, a court has heard.

The 47-year-old appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday charged with six indecency offences and three unrelated drugs charges.

It's alleged he molested the 28-year-old woman on at least three separate occasions at his home in Brisbane's southeast during the past three months.

"The allegations are that the defendant befriended the victim, who has used his service to get to work, to respite care, etc," said police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Mark Gorton, who opposed bail.

"That friendship has developed into exchanging phone numbers, predominantly so she can contact him to use his taxi, but has grown to sexual contact at his house."

It's alleged the woman has the mental capacity of a person aged between five and 10.

The taxi driver is charged with three counts of indecently dealing with a person with an impairment of mind, two counts of procuring such a person to commit an indecent act, and one of exposing such a person to an indecent film.

He's also charged with possessing cannabis, a drug utensil and property used in connection with a drug.

Defence lawyer Fiona Graham said her client was single and cared for an elderly man while battling a number of health issues, including type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea and mental health problems.

He was granted bail by Magistrate Chris Callaghan on condition he have no contact with the woman.

The case is due to return to court on June 22.
