Former New Zealand allrounder Chris Cairns won't face match-fixing charges from the England and Wales Cricket Board, media reports from the United Kingdom say.

London's Telegraph newspaper cited ECB sources as indicating charges won't be brought against Cairns after former New Zealand teammate Lou Vincent accused him of involvement in an international match-fixing scandal.

Vincent provided evidence about his experiences during competitions in England (Lancashire and Sussex), India (Chandigarh Lions), New Zealand (Auckland), Hong Kong (Sixes tournament) and South Africa (Mid West Rhinos).

Vincent accused Cairns of inciting him to fix matches while he played for Lancashire in 2008.

Cairns was contracted to Nottinghamshire at the time.

Cairns, who has strongly denied the accusations, travelled to the UK late last month to speak to London's Metropolitan Police, the ICC's anti-corruption unit, and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
