The mother of a preschooler found wandering alone on a Cairns street wearing only a nappy has been located.
Police issued an appeal for help to find the girl's parents after she was spotted by a member of the public in Westcourt about 9am on Tuesday.
Officers issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon saying they had spoken to the girl's mother. A spokesman couldn't provide any other details.
The girl is believed to be about three years old.
Police earlier said the girl was found wearing a pink dress but later clarified that she was only wearing a nappy and was later given the dress.
