Cake Tin expected to be OK for Bledisloe

The earthquake-hit Westpac Stadium is expected to be cleared to host Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test.

Westpac Stadium bosses are confident the earthquake-shaken venue will be given the all clear to host Saturday's Bledisloe Cup rugby Test.

Engineers were going over the 13-year-old Wellington stadium on Monday and expect to know by the end of the day exactly what damage had been suffered during Friday's quake.

The 6.6 quake hit 10km southeast of Seddon in Marlborough and forced the cancellation of stadium events over the weekend.

However, preparations for the All Blacks v Australia Test match were going ahead.

"We are not expecting any issues to prevent the Bledisloe going ahead," stadium chief executive Shane Harmon told AAP.

The stadium's only damage appeared to be minor concrete chipping of the walkway and broken glassware in the lounge rooms, he said.

Around 36,500 spectators are expected for the second clash between the two sides in the Rugby Championship.
