Legal experts are calling on the federal government to set a national target for reducing the rate of Indigenous imprisonment in Australia.
Representives from the Law Council of Australia and The Australian Bar Association have just met in Darwin (Friday) to discuss the issue.
They're concerned that 'Closing the Gap' government initiatives do not directly deal with justice reform issues.
The Law Council's Duncan McConnel told Brianna Roberts the current justice system is letting indigenous Australians down.
