Call to shore up funding for legal centres

Labor is calling for community legal centres to have their funding shored up beyond 2017 on the White Ribbon domestic violence awareness day.

Labor has demanded the federal government provide funding certainty to community legal centres beyond 2017.

Shadow attorney-general Mark Dreyfus, used the White Ribbon domestic violence awareness day to highlight the potential impact on victims' access to legal help.

"The funding falls off a cliff in 2017," he told reporters in Canberra on Wednesday.
