Cambage's WNBA Shock fall to Fever

Australian Opals centre Liz Cambage top-scored for Tulsa but couldn't stop the Shock falling to a 71-60 loss to Indiana in the WNBA.

TULSA, Oklahoma, July 25 AP -

While Cambage bagged 13 points, Indiana veteran Tamika Catchings went past another Australian Lauren Jackson into fourth on the WNBA all-time scoring list.

Catchings had 23 points for a total of 6,024 career points.

The 13-year veteran also had a game-high nine rebounds.

Shavonte Zellous added 19 points against her former team, and Karima Christmas added 11 for the defending champion Fever.

Tulsa's lone All-Star Game selection, Glory Johnson, was bothered by foul trouble and finished with 11 points.

While the Shock's winning run stopped at three, Indiana's victory was their seventh in the last nine games.

The Fever now sit in fourth place in the conference standings.

"When we were losing games, there was still a focus on getting better," Catchings said.

"That is starting to pay off and today was a good confidence-builder for us heading into the All-Star break."

In other results, in San Antonio the Silver Stars delivered a 65-53 win over the New York Liberty, while Tina Thompson scored 23 points in Seattle's 73-66 victory over the LA Sparks.
