Red-hot GWS Giants star Jeremy Cameron is a massive chance of kicking 100 goals this season according to legendary AFL forward Wayne Carey.

Wayne Carey believes in-form GWS Giants forward Jeremy Cameron has a massive chance of reaching the magical 100 goal mark this AFL season.

Cameron has set tongues wagging on the subject by kicking 30 through the first seven rounds, notching at least three in every game.

No player has kicked 100 in a season since Lance Franklin booted 113 for Hawthorn in 2008.

With GWS tracking to play multiple finals in 2019, Carey thinks it's realistic for Cameron to reach triple figures if he can avoid injury and suspension.

"I would think it's practical why not?" Carey told AAP on Thursday.

"I think Jeremy has gone back to what made him a very good player in his first year.

"He's playing as a true centre half forward, he's not even playing full forward and he's kicked 30 goals.

"I think he has the capabilities. I think they'll play finals so that gives him another couple of games if they finish in the top four. I think he's a massive chance to do it."

Carey also expects blossoming Western Bulldogs key position player Aaron Naughton to be spending a lot more time up forward after a breakout performance last weekend.

Naughton kicked five goals and took 14 marks in the win over Richmond, with his tally of nine contested marks second only to Carey's AFL record of ten.

"His attack on the footy is what impresses me," Carey said.

"He's not always going to play games as he did on the weekend, but if you attack the footy and bring the ball to the ground you're always going to be of value to your team

"That competitiveness he has is a mark of a good key forward so I don't think you'll see him down back too often."
