Campbell takes 50m freestyle silver

Australian Cate Campbell claimed silver in the 50m freestyle final at the world titles in Barcelona.

Australian Cate Campbell fell just short of a golden sprint double at the world championships as she claimed silver in the women's 50m freestyle final in Barcelona on Sunday.

A slow start prevented Campbell adding to her 100m title as she clocked 24.14 seconds to be just out-touched by Dutch Olympic champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo (24.05)

Bronte Campbell was fifth in 24.66.

It was Cate Campbell's third medal of the meet and she will back up in the women's 4x100m medley relay final later on Sunday.
