Canada and Aust team up on embassy work

Julie Bishop is the first Australian foreign minister to visit Canada in almost 10 years.

Australia and Canada have signed a deal to increase cooperation within diplomatic missions, including sharing an embassy building in Laos.

Julie Bishop is in Vancouver, making her the first Australian foreign minister to visit Canada in almost 10 years.

Meanwhile, Universities Australia has inked a deal with Canadian organisation Mitacs, which will allow Australian undergraduates to participate in an elite research internship program in Canada for the first time.
