At least five people have been killed by a runaway train laden with oil that exploded in a small Canadian town.

At least five people have been killed by a runaway train laden with oil that exploded in a small Canadian town.

 

About six thousand people reside in the town of Lac-Megantic in Quebec province, 250 kilometres east of Montreal.

 

Dozens of buildings in the town's centre have been destroyed, with the scene likened to a war zone.
