Canadian woman missing in northern NSW

A Canadian national has not accessed her phone or bank account since leaving an appointment in northern NSW two weeks ago.

Friends fear for a Canadian woman missing for two weeks after she was last seen leaving a doctor's appointment in the NSW tourist town of Byron Bay.

Natalie Perkins, 36, has not accessed her bank account or used her phone since leaving the appointment in Fletcher Street about 4.10pm on February 15.

The Canadian national is living in Byron Bay on a bridging visa.

"There's no suggestion of foul play at this time but we are concerned for her welfare as she does suffer a medical condition," Detective Acting Inspector Laurie Moroney told AAP.

"She's got a small circle of friends who she hasn't contacted, no family in Australia ... her disappearance is out of character."

Det Insp Moroney said inquiries indicated Ms Perkins was still in the country.

Police have released CCTV footage of Ms Perkins leaving her medical appointment in the hope someone may recognise her.
