A baby girl remains in hospital in a critical condition after a car crashed into the bedroom of a Geelong house.

A man and woman in their 20s, who were in the bedroom at the time, were treated at Geelong Hospital with minor injuries.

Their four-month old daughter was airlifted to Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital.

Police say the car crashed through a fence and into the Breakwater house after its driver apparently failed to negotiate a roundabout on Monday morning.

The driver, a 20-year-old Grovedale man, is being treated at Geelong Hospital, but is no longer under police guard.

Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
