Cardboard tower topples at Sydney Festival

A tower of cardboard boxes and tape has come crashing down at the Sydney Festival.

Hundreds of people have converged on Sydney's Darling Harbour to help destroy an enormous cardboard tower.

The 30 metre-high structure of boxes and tape took hours to assemble two days ago, but crashed to the ground within seconds on Sunday afternoon.

As soon as the creation by French artist Olivier Grossetete was felled, children and the young at heart converged on the faux-rubble to stamp their mark on its remains.
