Carjacking at gunpoint in Sydney's west

A man has been threatened with a gun and robbed of his car in Sydney's west.

A man has been held up at gunpoint and forced to hand over his keys in a carjacking in Sydney's west.

Police say the 35-year-old man was about to get into his black Holden Commodore station wagon in Auburn at about 11pm on Saturday when a man approached from behind and threatened him with a firearm.

The man handed over his keys and ran off before the offender drove from the scene.

The vehicle has NSW number plates BT-92-LD.
