Carvalhal extends contract at Sheffield Wednesday

The former Sporting Lisbon and Besiktas coach joined Wednesday in 2015 and led them to top-six finishes the last two seasons, with the club finishing fourth in the recent Championship campaign.

Wednesday lost to Hull City in the playoff final in Carvalhal's first season in charge and lost to Huddersfield Town on penalties in this season's semi.

The club did not disclose the length of the new contract.
