The Cleveland Cavaliers launched a bombing raid on a helpless Atlanta Hawks, hitting a record 25 three-pointers in a game-two victory in their NBA Eastern Conference semi-final series.
The Cavaliers' won 123-98 on Wednesday in Cleveland to take a 2-0 series lead.
The Hawks were defeated by halftime, with the Cavaliers going into the break up 74-38.
"It is amazing the way we shot the ball," Cavaliers guard JR Smith, who started the avalanche with four three-pointers in the first quarter and ended with seven for the game, said.
At the end of the third quarter the Cavaliers were up 106-76, allowing LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the rest of their starters, as well Australian back-up point guard Matthew Dellavedova, to spend more time on the bench.
With both teams playing the reserves for most of the final quarter it became a contest about whether the Cavaliers could beat the NBA record of 23 three-pointers in a game.
It came when Dahntay Jones hit the 24th with 2:22 to go and then Mo Williams extended it 32 seconds later to 25.
"They had a hell of a night," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said.
Cleveland had 10 players connect with a three-pointer and the team shot an incredible 56 per cent from behind the arc.
Dellavedova was successful with just one of his three long bombs.
James had 27 points while Smith finished with 23.
Hawks forward Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Game three in the best-of-seven series is in Atlanta on Friday.
