Celtic have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Scottish League Cup after a comprehensive 3-0 win over Championship leaders Hearts at Parkhead.
John Guidetti fired Celtic in front midway through the first half on Wednesday as he grabbed his first goal since joining the Glasgow giants on loan from Manchester City.
Only a goal-line clearance denied the Swede a second two minutes later before he had another effort ruled out for offside.
However, things could have been different if Hearts, relegated from the top flight last season, had taken their chances.
Jamie Walker fired a shot off the crossbar on the stroke of half-time before Osman Sow sent his 54th minute penalty over the bar after Virgil van Dijk had clipped his heels in the box.
Hearts were left to rue that miss just two minutes later when Alim Ozturk barged Guidetti off the ball in the box to concede a penalty that Kris Commons expertly converted.
An Adam Eckersley own-goal in the 61st minute rounded off the scoring as Celtic joined holders Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Hibernian and Old Firm rivals Rangers in the draw for the quarter-finals.
