CFS warns SA to prepare for bushfires

Authorities have warned residents in several districts of South Australia to prepare for bushfires ahead of forecast hot and dry weather on Saturday.

South Australians are being urged to prepare for bushfires, with total fire bans declared across parts of the state.

Severe fire danger is forecast on Saturday for the Northwest Pastoral, West Coast, Mid North and Mount Lofty Ranges districts, with hot and very dry weather expected throughout the weekend.

Total fire bans will apply in those districts for 24 hours from midnight on Friday.

The Country Fire Service says people in affected areas should implement bushfire survival plans and be prepared to leave before a fire starts.

Temperatures in Adelaide are expected to reach 32C on Saturday, before climbing to 35C on Tuesday.
