Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers has muscled his way to an impressive 100m freestyle victory on the opening day of the FINA Swimming World Cup in Tokyo.
The 18-year-old set another new junior World Short Course record time of 46.12 - edging out Russia's former World Short Course Champion, Vladimir Morozov - who had been unbeaten in 14 previous starts.
Chalmers, swimming in lane eight, stormed home to out-touch Morozov (46.15) with Australia's London Olympian Tommaso D'Orsogna in third in 46.91.
Meanwhile, Rio silver medallist and three-time world backstroke champion Mitch Larkin continued on his winning ways from Singapore, taking out the 100m backstroke in 50.23 - with less than half-a-second separating the top eight.
Larkin was closely followed by Japanese pair Masaki Kaneko's (50.36) and Junya Koga, the (50.45).
Fellow Rio Olympian Madison Wilson took the silver behind Hungary's Katinka Hosszu in the women's 200m freestyle in 1:54.45 while Hosszu (26.23) also claimed her second gold medal of the meet defeating Australia's Emily Seebohm who picked up the silver with a close 26.30 in the women's 50m backstroke.
