Changes in the Senate since the election

Fourteen of the 76 senators elected in July 2016 will have left their jobs by the end of the first parliamentary sitting week of 2018.

SENATORS ELECTED IN 2016 WHO ARE GONE OR GOING

NSW - Fiona Nash (Nationals, dual citizenship), Sam Dastyari (Labor, scrutiny over links to a Chinese donor and businessman)

VIC - Stephen Conroy (Labor, retired)

QLD - George Brandis (LNP, to become Australia's high commissioner to the UK), Malcolm Roberts (Pauline Hanson's One Nation, dual citizenship), Larissa Waters (Greens, dual citizenship)

WA - Scott Ludlam (Greens, dual citizenship), Chris Back (Liberal, retired), Rod Culleton (Pauline Hanson's One Nation, disqualified by High Court)

SA - Nick Xenophon (NXT, resigned to contest state election), Skye Kakoschke-Moore (NXT, dual citizenship), Bob Day (Family First, disqualified over office leasing deal with Commonwealth)

TAS - Jacqui Lambie (Independent, dual citizenship), Stephen Parry (Liberal, dual citizenship)

ACT - Katy Gallagher (Labor, dual citizenship)
