A man has been charged over the alleged execution-style murder of father and Sydney businessman John Gasovski.
Mr Gasovski's body was found in Budderoo National Park at Jamberoo, in NSW's Illawarra region, in June last year.
The 48-year-old had a single gunshot wound to the head.
Detectives arrested a 46-year-old man in Wagga Wagga in the state's central west on Tuesday and charged him with murder.
He is due to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
Investigators will allege Mr Gasovski's murder was linked to a continuing investigation by the NSW Organised Crime Squad into commercial drug supply and manufacture.
Police say four people have been charged with drug offences as a result of the investigation.
It will also be alleged in court that Mr Gasovski, a father of four from Arncliffe, was involved in buying drug-making equipment and planned to help transport cannabis from Canberra to Sydney.
Three days before Mr Gasovski was found on June 15, 2014, his wife had reported him missing.
Police allege he told his wife, Jackie, he was going to Canberra on a business trip.
Detective Superintendent Scott Cook said homicides related to organised crime were challenging to solve because of the reluctance of some people to provide information to police.
"Police cannot achieve these outcomes without the assistance of the community," he said in a statement on Tuesday night.
"I would like to congratulate those in our community who came forward to assist their police. Your help was invaluable."
