A Queenslander has been charged with attempted murder after attacks on two men, one of whom remains in hospital in an induced coma.

Police found a 23-year-old man with lacerations to his face, and another man, aged 27, unconscious with head injuries, at two different Mackay addresses on the night of August 30.

Both men were taken to Mackay Base Hospital, where the 27-year-old remains in an induced coma.

Police on Friday charged a 28-year-old Mackay local with two counts of attempted murder.

"We had a total of six crime scenes - a huge amount of police resources have gone into this investigation," Senior Sergeant David Tucker told ABC Radio.

The man is expected to front Mackay Magistrates Court on Friday.
