Charges laid after Perth nightclub assault

A 24-year-old man has been charged over the assault of a 20-year-old man outside a Perth nightclub, leaving him with serious head injuries.

A man has been charged over an attack outside a Perth nightclub that left the victim with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the 20-year-old victim was punched during a fight outside the Paramount Nightclub on James Street in Northbridge about 5am on Sunday.

The blow caused him to fall to the ground and hit his head on the footpath.

The offender fled while the victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries.

On Monday, police said a 24-year-old man had been charged with grievous bodily harm and common assault.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court later on Monday.
