Actress Kristin Davis has spoken of her desire to star in a third Sex and The City movie, just a day after her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker shot down rumours of another follow-up.

Fans of the hit TV show have been calling for a third big screen installment following the release of the first two films in 2008 and 2011.

Parker told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday that there are no plans to make another movie, but Davis admits she's desperate to portray Charlotte one more time.

"Would I do another? Of course! We'd be thrilled if there was another ... I think in our hearts - actually I shouldn't speak for all of us - but I feel like it's unfinished," Davis told UK TV show This Morning.

"I feel that way, and I don't know if I would feel that way if the fans weren't supportive. But maybe because everyone talks to me every day about it, it still feels so relevant in some way ... so it feels unfinished a little bit."
