Chawrasia gets two-stroke Indian Open win

Terry Pilkadaris was the highest placed Australian at the conclusion of the Indian Open, finishing tied for 15th with a four-day total of eight-under.

SSP Chawrasia has staved off the challenge from compatriot Anirban Lahiri and South Korean Wang Jeung-hun to win his home Indian Open for his third European Tour title.

Chawrasia had finished second in the Asian Tour co-sanctioned event four times, including a playoff defeat to Lahiri last year.

But the 37-year-old held his nerve for a final-round one-under-par 71 on Sunday to claim victory by two shots.

Lahiri birdied the first three holes of the day and was tied for the lead after Chawrasia dropped a shot on the sixth.

Chawrasia, however, wrested back the advantage with a birdie on the eighth and finished with a four-day total of 15-under, while South Korean Wang and Lahiri finished on 13-under.

The highest place Australian in the field was Terry Pilkadaris, who finished tied for 15th on eight-under after rounds of 67, 64, 73 and 76.
