Chesterman named new AOC chef de mission

Ian Chesterman will be the chef de mission of Australia's summer Olympic team at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Long-time Olympic identity Ian Chesterman has been appointed as Australia's chef de mission for the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Chesterman has been a member of the AOC's executive board since 2001, and chef de mission of Australian teams at winter Olympics since 1998.

The 58-year-old replaces Kitty Chiller, who stood down from the role after overseeing Australia's troubled Rio Olympics campaign last year.
