Chiefs centre Fa'auli cited for tackle

The SANZAAR judiciary will investigate a tackle from Chiefs inside centre Jonathan Fa'auli against the Bulls.

Chiefs inside centre Jonathan Fa'auli has been cited for alleged foul play during the team's Super Rugby win over the Bulls in Hamilton.

A SANZAAR citing commissioner has deemed Fa'auli committed a dangerous tackle during the 28-12 victory on Saturday.

Details of the incident weren't outlined in a SANZAAR media release.

The citing commissioner said the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play in his opinion and would be considered by the foul play review committee on Sunday.

Counties Manukau back Fa'auli, 21, has impressed with his abrasive defence in a debut Super Rugby campaign.
