An unrestrained child has been found in a car with an alleged drink driver at the wheel following a police pursuit in central western NSW.
Officers from Orange were patrolling the Northern Distributor on Sunday afternoon when they noticed a Holden Commodore overtake on unbroken lines.
They say they directed the car to pull over but a chase began when the driver refused.
The vehicle drove onto the Mitchell Highway towards Molong, at Molong Creek Bridge, where road spikes were deployed, deflating a rear tyre.
The 33-year-old driver was arrested when he stopped the car in Edward Street, Molong, with officers allegedly finding the six-year-old unrestrained in the back seat.
Police say the man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.089.
He's been charged with dangerous driving, mid range PCA, consuming alcohol whilst driving, disqualified driving, exceeding the speed limit by more than 30km/h and driving with an unrestrained passenger.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Orange Local Court on Monday.
