Child hurt as car smashes into Perth house

A child has minor injuries and a gas main has been damaged after a car crashed into a Perth house.

A car with three child passengers has ploughed into a house in Perth's southern suburbs, leaving one with minor injuries.

The accident at the intersection of Cormorant Way and Kingfisher Place in Yangebup happened just before 10am on Tuesday.

The female driver had three children in the car, including a toddler.

Paramedics found one child had minor injuries.

It's understood no one was in the house at the time.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said ATCO Gas Australia workers contained a damaged gas main.

"The gas has been isolated," she said.

Incidents of cars crashing into houses have become so prevalent in Perth that the West Australian Police and Edith Cowan University are teaming to conduct research on them.
