China beat Aust 95-80 in men's basketball

China beat Australia 95-80 in Jiangsu Province to put the four-match men's basketball series at 2-1 in favour of the Boomers.

A breakout second quarter allowed China to beat Australia 95-80 in Game Three of the men's basketball series in Jiangsu Province.

Coming off two impressive wins in Perth, the Boomers struggled to find their shooting range for most of the game on Friday night while China shot the ball at over 50 per cent from the field and the three-point line.

Brock Motum continued to add to his growing reputation with a team-high 17 points, including nine in the final quarter.

Melbourne United forward Lucas Walker again impacted on both ends of the floor, finishing with 14 points, while Rhys Martin, Angus Brandt (12 points each) and Ben Madgen (10 points) were among five Boomers in double figures.

It was a slow start for the visitors, waiting more than three minutes to open their account, with Walker scoring their first two buckets.

The hosts began to flex their muscle and led 22-17 at quarter time.

They then went on an 11-1 run lead to make it 33-18 inside the first three minutes of the second term, 45-34 at the main interval and 67-56 heading into the final period.

The last of the four matches is on Sunday night in Jiangsu Province at the Liyang Tianmuhu Arena.
