China confused about FTA stance: Ciobo

Parliamentary secretary Steven Ciobo says a trip to China has revealed confusion about Australia's position over the free trade agreement.

There is confusion in China about its free-trade agreement with Australia, parliamentary secretary Steven Ciobo has warned.

Mr Ciobo, who has just returned from Beijing, said that was the clear message from the investment seminars he ran there especially in light of Labor's support for the FTA a year ago.

"Yet low and behold less than 12 months later all of a sudden Bill Shorten and the Labor party seem to be opposing the agreement," he told Sky News on Monday.
