Comedian Chris Lilley has proved ratings aren't necessarily a measure of a show's popularity after winning the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor.
Lilley won the gong for his portrayal of the obnoxious Ja'mie King in Ja'mie Private School Girl which he also wrote and directed.
Lilley was unable to collect his Logie in person, sending a video taped message, saying he was in London promoting his latest comedy, Jonah From Tonga.
"Thank you for my Logie I really appreciate it," he said in the taped message.
But he did send one of "Ja'mie's friends Kwami (actor Albert Mambo) to accept the award.

The ABC series was a spin-off of Lilley's comedy Summer Heights High and centres on Ja'mie in her final year of school, having left Summer Heights High and returned to Hillford Girls Grammar School.
The series was not as popular as Summer Heights High and rarely made the top 10 most watched shows.
Yet Lilley trumped Home and Away actors Stephen Peacocke and Dan Ewing, Packed To The Rafters star Hugh Sheridan and Offspring's Matthew Le Nevez for the Silver Logie.
