Christian church leaders have used their Easter Sunday celebrations to decry war and violence, and mourn its victims.

Christian church leaders have used their Easter Sunday celebrations to decry war and violence, and mourn its victims.

There is growing concern among Christian leaders over the murder of Christians by Islamist militants in many parts of the world.

The Pope appealed for an end to violence in hot spots around the world, the Catholic Patriarch of Syria called for an end to war and the Archbishop of Canterbury mourned the number, of what he called, Christian martyrs in the last year alone.
