US singer Ciara has apparently spent $US20,000 ($A22,345) on a safari-themed nursery.

The singer announced in January that she is expecting her first child with her fiance, rapper Future.

It appears that their little one will be spoilt. TMZ claims the couple headed to fancy baby store Petit Tresor in Los Angeles to kit out their bundle of joy's first room.

According to the website, the 28-year-old pop star decided on an animal theme and forked out $US1,800 on a giant stuffed giraffe alone.

The rest of the $US20,000 budget was apparently spent on other large toy animals, lion bookends and artwork.

Money is clearly no object for Ciara when it comes to her little one, as she was spotted buying yet more goodies for her unborn baby with pal Kim Kardashian last month.

The two stars headed to Bel-Bambini Baby Boutique in West Hollywood, where they were seen browsing and chatting.

Ciara and Future's baby is due in about a month.
