CIMIC unit gets $250m Telstra contract

Telecoms provider Visionstream, in which CIMIC holds 50 pct stake, has secured a $250m wideband services contract from Telstra.

Telecom services provider Visionstream has secured a $250 million extension to a contract from Telstra to deliver wideband services across the country.

The contract, with an initial term of three years, covers design, construction and integration of networks supporting Telstra's voice, data and IP products.

The fresh contract follows another $350 million supply maintenance and building services contract with Telstra that Vision stream secured in April.

Visionstream is the telecoms division of Ventia, which, in turn, is a 50-50 partnership between CIMIC and Apollo Global Management funds.
