Clarke still unsure on World Cup opener

Australian captain Michael Clarke says he's still uncertain if he will recover from a hamstring injury in time to play the February 14 World Cup opener.

Australian captain Michael Clarke still doesn't know if he'll be fit to play the World Cup opener.

Clarke is heartened by his recovery from a low-key trial game in Brisbane on Thursday, when he batted, fielded and also bowled.

But he's uncertain whether his hamstring injury will sufficiently heal in time for Australia's opening cup game on February 14 against England in Melbourne.

"I think you should ask that question to the medical staff," Clarke told reporters in Adelaide on Friday.

"I don't know the answer to that question.

"I have been following their guidelines from day one and I'm extremely thankful and grateful that I sit in this position now because of their advice and guidance.

"I will 100 per cent be dictated by what they feel and believe."

Clarke won't play in Australia's warm-up game against India on Sunday in Adelaide but is aiming to front against United Arab Emirates in another warm-up game on Wednesday.
