Clean-out continues at Woolworths

Supermarket giant Woolworths has announced more departures from its ranks, with two board members stepping down.

The exodus at Woolworths continues, with the challenged supermarket giant announcing the departures of directors Christine Cross and David Mackay.

Woolworths' recently appointed chairman Gordon Cairns on Wednesday said the pair had agreed to stand aside to allow for further board renewal.

The company recently announced the departure of its chief executive Grant O'Brien amid sliding profits.
