Cleaner charged with sex assault on teen

The operator of a cleaning business in NSW has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl in his employ.

A 67-year-old NSW cleaner is behind bars after allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl over a period of three years while she was working for him.

Police say they received information in January claiming a man aged in his sixties had sexually and indecently assaulted a girl between 2011 and 2013.

During those years, the girl was aged between 12 and 15 and was working on a casual basis for the man's cleaning business.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad on Thursday went to a property in North Boambee Valley, near Coffs Harbour, where they arrested a 67-year-old man.

He was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault and eight counts of aggravated indecent assault under authority.

The man was also charged with committing an act of indecency towards a person under 16 years in circumstances of aggravation.

He was refused bail and is due to face Coffs Harbour Local Court on Friday.
