Collingwood spearhead Travis Cloke will miss as least the next fortnight of AFL action and possibly longer after suffering a calf tear on Saturday.
Cloke hobbled from the ground in the first quarter against West Coast, leaving the Magpies without the firepower needed to challenge the Eagles.
On Monday, sports medico Peter Larkins told the AFL website the diagnosis from the club meant Cloke faced at least two weeks on the sidelines.
"Scans have confirmed a tear in the calf but have ruled out any injury to the Achilles tendon," Larkins said.
"At this stage, Travis will miss a minimum of two weeks and probably longer.
"Collingwood is waiting to further analyse the scans today to determine how significant the damage is before they determine the likely time out."
Collingwood play Western Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon hoping to reverse a trend of four straight losses.
If Larkins' diagnosis holds true Cloke will also be absent from the round 18 clash with Melbourne but could challenge for the following week's match with Carlton.
While West Coast emerged from the Etihad Stadium match with a 31-point win that solidifies their top-two position, they also lost a key-position player.
Marking defender Jeremy McGovern tore his hamstring late in the match, with Larkins suggesting he would miss "three to four" weeks.
