Clubs get $1m to fight domestic violence

Australian sporting clubs will be able to apply for grants from a $1 million government-funded pool to campaign against domestic violence.

The federal government will give sporting clubs $1 million to fight domestic violence against women and children.

The funding will be managed by anti-domestic violence foundation Our Watch.

Sporting clubs can apply for grants to influence public attitudes and promote respectful relationships, Social Services Minister Scott Morrison said on Thursday.
