The coalition is pledging $15 million to improve mental health support for veterans.

The funding will go toward establishing the new Centenary Institute which will provide clinical research for veteran health as well as $3 million to extend a program providing free counselling and support for veterans.

"We will engage with our younger veterans and our female veterans so they get the support they need in the ways they need it," Veterans' Affairs Minister Dan Tehan said on Saturday.
