Collingwood fined $20K for paperwork error

A failure to lodge details about an unlisted player before they took to the training track has led to Collingwood copping a $20,000 fine from the AFL.

Collingwood were fined $20,000 for failing to notify the AFL about an unlisted player before they began training with the Magpies.

The AFL on Monday said half of the fine for breaching the list lodgment rules has been suspended until October 31.

Investigations manager Ken Wood said the club's full cooperation in the inquiry and other mitigating factors were taken into account regarding the penalty.
