Compo for defence abuse victims to flow

Compensation for defence abuse victims is expected to start flowing early next year.

Victims of Defence abuse might start to receive compensation payments in early 2018.

The Turnbull government announced in the May budget close to $20 million for reparation payments over four years for the most serious cases.

Defence Minister Marise Payne says the policy arrangements are still being worked out.

"We expect a framework will be in place towards the end of the year and for payments to be able to have payments made in early 2018," she told Senate question time on Thursday.
