Police hold serious concerns for a Victorian woman who hasn't been seen in almost a month after walking out of a Melbourne hospital.

A woman missing for almost four weeks has not contacted family or accessed her bank accounts since walking out of a Melbourne hospital.

Police don't think there is anything suspicious in the disappearance of Debra Barbu, 57.

But they hold concerns for the woman last seen walking down the middle of Dalton Road in Thomastown on September 25 in a disorientated state.

She had earlier walked out of Northern Hospital in Epping during an admissions process, leaving her mobile phone, credit card and wallet behind.

She was being transferred to Epping for further tests after undergoing treatment at another hospital.

Police on Tuesday set up an information caravan on Dalton Road hoping someone will come forward with information about Ms Barbu's whereabouts.

Detective Senior Constable Craig Spencer said police are not treating her disappearance as suspicious.

Someone may have seen her and might be able to tell police where she was heading, Det Sen Cons Spencer told AAP in Thomastown.

"There are some creeks and grasslands nearby and that information may be able to assist in co-ordinating another search."

Ms Barbu had not taken medication she needed, and had never gone missing before.

She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie with white and black peace signs and camouflage pattern pants.
